RECIPROCITY BETWEEN LOCALS!

On September 23rd, Spring Day! We had the opportunity to go with a big group of 36 locals that wanted to help us in the project of the Day Care Center, showing us the most important activity that used to run the Inca Empire: Reciprocity - "Ayni" in Quechua Language - that is still alive in the Shanty Towns of Lima.

As we normal do, we divided the group to do different activities: Carpentry, painting and gardening, but this time some moms of the group helped our leaders to prepare lunch. They did a wonderful job, it was delicious!

Some of our friends helped also in the garden that we want to build, as being a very dry soil, we have to prepare the earth with compost for the plants to grow. Luckily some bushes are growing already!

After lunch, everyone helped to build the fence around the Day Care Center and also painting it. It was hard job because first they had to put some pillars connected in the earth for the fence to be stable. But at the end it worked perfectly.

In name of all the members of Haku Tours and the families of the different communities in "Cerro Papa" (Potato Hill), we want to thank you for your effort and dedication to each one of the activities you realized. You are welcome to return anytime you want to!
